Golf Club Lecco
A technical Brianza-lake course where old estate atmosphere meets water, trees and easy access
Golf Club Lecco is one of the most strategically placed courses in Lombardy, yet what makes it interesting is not convenience alone. Between the lakes of Annone and Pusiano, at the foot of the pre-Alps, the 18-hole routing moves through a large green estate where narrow wooded holes, water hazards and longer more open stretches create a round that mixes precision and release. It suits travellers who want a full golf day near Como and Brianza without giving up technical content.

Lungolago di Malgrate — Vista su Lecco
The Malgrate waterfront is one of the most satisfying post-round stops for Golf Club Lecco: an easy lakeside promenade with the full skyline of Lecco, the Resegone profile and evening reflections opening in front of you. It delivers that classic branch-of-Como beauty without requiring a whole excursion.
“Walk it around blue hour and stop where the full Lecco skyline opens across the water; the most photogenic moment is when the town lights start to appear and the mountain line is still readable.”
Pescarenico — Borgo manzoniano sul lago
Pescarenico is the only Lecco district explicitly mentioned in The Betrothed, and after a round it offers exactly the right mix of literary memory, colorful houses and waterside calm. It feels lived-in rather than staged, which is why it works so well as a hidden gem.
“Arrive from the Adda side near Ponte Azzone Visconti, then walk into the lanes toward the monastery; that approach gives you the classic view of the houses with the Resegone behind them.”
Piani d'Erna — Sentiero Natura e vista Resegone
Piani d'Erna is the mountain escape that gives Golf Club Lecco its most complete panorama: cable car up from the city, open meadows under the Resegone and easy walking on the Nature Path. It is a real place to move, breathe and look back at the lake from above, not just a literary abstraction.
“Take the cable car late in the afternoon and do just the Nature Path loop instead of forcing a long hike; the real reward is the balcony view back over Lecco and the lake basin.”
Abbazia di Piona — Penisola monastica sul Lario
On a small peninsula jutting into the northern arm of Lake Como, the Cistercian Priory of Piona has survived nearly unchanged since the 11th century. The Romanesque cloister, the surrounding stillness of the water, and the monks who still distil herbal liqueurs create an atmosphere entirely outside of time. Few tourists venture this far, yet it remains one of the most genuine places on the entire Lario shore.
“The monks sell their herbal liqueur directly at the priory entrance — a bottle costs little and carries a lot.”
Monte Barro — Cima di Brianza sul lago
Just minutes from the club, the Monte Barro Regional Park threads trails through hornbeam and oak woodland that open onto 360° panoramas of the Lecco branch of the lake and the Brianza bell towers below. At the summit, the ruins of a late-Roman hilltop settlement survive almost unnoticed. At 900 metres the air changes: cool, clear, a world away from the crowded lakeshores.
“The alpini trail reaches the summit in under an hour from Galbiate village — no queues, no noise, just beech trees.”
